Nursery Sports!

Yesterday we also helped out at the nursery sports day and were lucky enough to get beautiful sunshine…a bit of a change from our sports day!

P6 did really well encouraging the nursery children and cheering them on. We helped to give out stickers and organise the races too. Everyone did really well and I was very impressed at how responsible and caring p6 were. Next week we will be taking our buddies to the school canteen at lunch time as part of their transition.

Sports day!

Although it was a bit of a drizzly, dull day our p5-7 sports day went really well and all the pupils were enthusiastic and gave their best effort! Well done everyone for taking part- great fun! Here’s a few snaps I managed to take 😊

Digital Learning Week!

Last week was national digital learning week and we got up to quite a few different fun activities, such as coding microbits, building electronic circuits and trying out spheros! It was great to use some new resources which we loaned from the UHI πŸ™‚ lots of great ICT and problem solving skills being developed!

Sports Day Reminder!

Just aΒ  reminder that it’s the whole school Sports DayΒ  next Tuesday (22nd May). The P5-7 Sports Day will take place from 9.30-11 on the MUGA. Please do come along and cheer us on if you can! Fingers crossed this wonderful weather holds out for us!

Next week we will also be helping our nursery buddies for their Sports day too, which will be on Thursday. Here’s some photos of us from yesterday when we were helping them practice for it πŸ™‚

Generation Science!

What a great time we had yesterday in our Generation Science session! We were learning all about acids and alkalies (which we already knew a little bit about from our volcano experiment!). We got to test the pH level of different liquids and substances and then got to experiment with making our own chemical reactions. We saw lots of changes, such as colour changes and fizzing!

Don’t Forget!

…it’s our class trip tomorrow!

We are aiming to leave by 9.15am so please make sure that you come to school prepared with everything you need:

  • Packed lunch & Snack
  • Water bottle
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Sensible outdoor clothes and footwear that you wouldn’t mind getting a bit dirty
  • School jumper
  • Any medication/inhalers needed

The weather forecast looks good for tomorrow however it does look like we might get a few showers in the afternoon, so please make sure to bring a jacket with a hood as we will be outside all day with very little shelter.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for a great day out πŸ™‚

Class Trip

Our P6 trip to Abriachan is a week today – very exciting! Everyone should have been given a letter about the trip at the end of last week. Please make sure that permission slips and your Β£2 contributions are handed in over the next few days, and by Friday at the very latest.

Looking forward to it and keeping our fingers crossed for good weather!

Nursery Buddying!

This term all the primary 6 pupils have been buddied up with a nursery pupil and we will have weekly ‘buddying sessions’. This is to prepare nursery children for their transition into primary 1. Our buddying will also continue after the summer when we (as big primary 7s!!) will spend time with them in P1 and have break times with them. This is a great opportunity for P6 to develop their responsibility and take the lead with caring for younger pupils. It will set them up well for them many responsibilities that P7 will bring next year!

It has been just lovely to watch p6 interact with and care for the younger children and I can already tell the nursery pupils are lucky to have them! Have a look at some of our photos from the last buddying session and I will continue to post photos as time goes on πŸ™‚

P6 Assembly!

Letters went home last week but this is just a reminder that our P6 assembly will be this Monday (the 30th) at 1.45pm. We will be sharing lots of our learning about Natural Disasters which was our topic last term. The pupils have been working hard on slide shows, experiments, songs and drama!

We look forward to seeing you there if you can make it – everyone welcome πŸ™‚
